Day Two of Ploughing Championships

 

It’s day two of the 2011 National Ploughing Championships in Athy in Co Kildare today.

Around 71 thousand people attended the opening day yesterday – an increase of five thousand on the previous year.

The country’s largest outdoor agricultural event is marking its 80th anniversary this year.

Hundreds of competitors are battling it out for ploughing titles and there was success yesterday for Newmarket on Fergus plougher Sinead Corbet.

There’s plenty of  activity off the field too- today the Most Appropriately Dressed Lady competition will take place.
