DAA plays down tendering process for Shannon Cargo Hub

 

 

A new cargo facility for Shannon airport could still be a long way off, despite invitations for interested companies to contact the DAA.

The Dublin Airport Authority has told Clare FM they are seeking expressions of interest to potentially develop an aviation cargo facility at Shannon, but they’ve stressed that this is not a commitment to proceeding with the project.

A DAA spokesman said no final decision has been made, and though they’ve had previous dealings with the Lynx group regarding an international cargo hub at Shannon they’re now trying to ascertain whether others are interested ahead of a possible tendering process.

Shannon Councillor Patricia McCarthy has given the news from the DAA a cautious welcome
