Swimming Ban Remains In Place At Two Clare Beaches This Bank Holiday Weekend

A swimming ban will remain in place at Kilkee and the front beach in Quilty this bank holiday weekend.

But Clare County Council has lifted a ‘do not swim’ advisory notice at White Strand, Doonbeg, and White Strand, Miltown Malbay, after results from water quality tests there were satisfactory.

The local authority implemented swimming restrictions at the four beaches earlier this week on the advice of the HSE, after heavy rainfall led to high levels of bacteria in the water.
