Shannon-based Active Retirement Secretary Says People ‘More Frightened’ Than Ever Of Retiring

The Shannon-based Secretary of Active Retirement Ireland says people are ‘more frightened than they’ve ever been’ about the prospect of retiring.

It comes as calls grow for increases to be made to both the fuel allowance and the state pension in Budget 2022.

Household energy prices are expected to have risen by at least 10 percent for the winter period, with the purchasing power of the state pension having reduced by more than 10 euro since 2019.
