Midwest Blood Stocks Have Reach Serious Levels Warns IBTS

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service has warned that blood stocks in the Midwest have reached a very serious level this morning.

The IBTS is making an urgent appeal for blood donations, with stocks dipping on account of a number of factors including increased levels of Covid, as well as hospitals ramping up surgeries and procedures after the pandemic.

The service needs an additional 5,000 donations nationally over the next eight weeks.
