The Organisers of a North Clare St Patrick’s Day parade are apologising to the family of Peadar Doyle, for the hurt caused by an entry in this year’s parade.

The Carlow pensioner passed away in January this year and Gardaí believe he was already dead when he was taken to the local post office by two men looking to claim his pension.

His family are among those who have expressed anger and upset in recent days, after floats depicting the incident appeared in two St Patrick’s Day parades; one of those in Kilfenora.
