Ennis Man Appointed To One Of Ireland’s Top Military Jobs

A Ennis man has been appointed to one of the most senior military positions in the country.

Brigadier General Adrian Ó Murchú is the new the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces; the second in command across the entire army.

He joined the Permanent Defence Forces in 1982 and has served in overseas operations in Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Israel and the Ivory Coast, while he has also been called up by the EU for his expertise.
