An Ennis Councillor insists a new motorway service station on the outskirts of the town will not negatively impact local businesses.
A Supermac’s plaza is to be built just off the M18 motorway at Kilbreckan after being approved by An Bord Pleanala, with construction due to begin in the next number of months.
The project has raised concerns from a number of businesses since it was first mooted in 2014, with fears it may drive customers out of Ennis town centre.

However, Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Daly, who backed the proposal, says the people passing through the plaza won’t impact local footfall.
