Clonlara Residents “Living In Fear” Of Fresh Flooding Issues

Residents of the Springfield area of Clonlara are said to be living in fear of fresh flooding issues, as high-risk weather conditions move in for the weekend.

It’s been four years since the area was effectively shut down with severe floods for six weeks, which saw many people forced to evacuate their flooded homes.

Sandbags have been issued to homeowners who are most at risk from rising water in the Parteen Weir, while the ESB and Clare County Council are closely monitoring the situation and putting preparations in place.
