Clare’s Chief Fire Officer Warns People Will Pay For Callouts If Burning Agri Waste During Heat Warning

Clare County Fire and Rescue Service is warning farmers not to burn agricultural waste while the temperature advisory warning is in place.

Another scorching day lies ahead today and Met Eireann’s status yellow heat warning says some regions will likely get as hot as 32 degrees.

The highest temperature in the country yesterday was recorded in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, which hit 29.3 degrees, while 28 degrees was recorded in Shannon.

Clare County Council won’t be issuing permits for the controlled burning of green waste to farmer during this period.

Chief of Clare Fire and Rescue Service Adrian Kelly says while they normally make allowances for callouts to controlled burnings, that any call during this hot spell will be charged for.
