A local activist in Crusheen has expressed huge disappointment that there are no plans to reopen a railway stop there.
The CEO of Irish Rail has confirmed the case for a railway station at Crusheen will be kept under review in line with future demand trends.

Sixmilebridge native Jim Meade says, however, that at present, there’s no provision for a station within the current funding profile.
It follows comments from the Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan, that reopening stations is not in his remit.
Spokesman for the Crusheen Rail Stop campaign group, Michael O’Doherty believes they’re being unfairly discriminated against.
