A Cratloe woman is to represent Clare in this year's Rose of Tralee competition.

Joanne O'Gorman, a daughter of former Clare hurler Jackie, beat off competition from 17 other contestants in Saturday's event in Dromoland.
The lab technician now goes on to represent the Banner County in a selection event in Portlaoise at the end of May, vying for the right to go on stage during the main festival in August.
