Counting of votes in the Presidential election and blasphemy referendum are underway in County Clare
It looks like a landslide victory for Michael D Higgins with two exit polls putting the current President on course to be re-elected with between 56 and 58 per cent of the vote.
It’s expected the blasphemy referendum will pass comfortably with 7 in 10 voting in favour of removing its reference from the constitution

Ballot boxes from across the county are being opened at the Auburn Lodge Hotel.
At 10 am 25 percent of the boxes were open out of a total number of boxes 152.
