Clare Councillors say people here have been ‘let down’ by government, after they were told the county won’t reap the benefits of this year’s Property Tax receipts.

Over 90% of homeowners here have paid the tax, which was introduced for the first time this year, but in receiving a financial report this week local representatives were told that that the money collected won’t go directly to Clare.
West Clare Independent Councillor Christy Curtain says people need to be reassured that they will get the services they thought they were paying for.
