Councillor Claims It Could ‘Take 30 Years’ To Clear Social Housing Waiting Lists In West Clare

A Kilrush Councillor claims it could take 30 years to clear social housing waiting lists in West Clare.

Figures released to representatives in the West Clare Municipal District this week show the local authority is currently dealing with 682 social housing applications in the region, with just 40 residences in the Council’s stock lying empty.

Currently, just 65 new social units are planned for the next number of years across Ennistymon, Miltown Malbay and Doonbeg.
