Calls For Radical Solutions As Clare Learners Face 20 Week Wait For Driving Tests

A former Mayor of Clare is calling for urgent and radical solutions to curb the current driving test backlog in this county.

The earliest available appointment for learners here is now 11 weeks away at the Ennis test centre and 20 weeks for both Shannon and Kilrush.

The Department of Transport anticipates that it will take unitl June of 2024 at the earliest to recruit enough testers to restore the national standard wait time of ten weeks.
