Council to Give Clare Communities Storm Repairs Update

Clare's Coastal Communities will receive an update on works carried out since last year's major storms later today.

Clare County Council is to brief local representatives on storm remediation works prior to the monthly meeting of the local authority.

Its a year since Storm Brigid wreaked havoc on the Clare Coast particularly in places like Kilkee, Kilbaha and Carrigaholt, following earlier storm damage to Quilty Liscannor, Lahinch and other areas. 

Clare County Council put a total estimate of 36 million euro on the damage and was allocated 16.7 million euro by the government, 6 million of which was spent on repairs so far.
