Clare County Council is set to draw up a masterplan for Newmarket-On-Fergus.
Work remains ongoing by staff in the Shannon Municipal District on a Town Centre First strategy for Sixmilebridge.

However, it’s understood elected representatives have been told this week that Newmarket is to be ‘the next recommended location’ for such an exercise.
Fianna Fail Councillor Pat McMahon says it’s only the beginning of the work required to develop the town.
