These projects are in relation to three Ennis Active Travel Town schemes, and all are subject to planning approval.

Works are to be carried out on one route along the Quin Road, and include pedestrian markings at the Station Road roundabout, near the Mart and near Bruach na hAbhainn.

Cucle lanes are proposed for part of route two along the R458 and part of the R352 from Clareabbey to Ballymaley.  This will also connect with the West Clare Railway Greenway at Mill Road.

The third part of the works is a signed route to link the Gort and Tulla Roads along St Senan’s Road, The Crescent and Ivy Hill.

The Council hopes the schemes will see more people walking and cycling in Ennis, leading to cleaner air and less taffic.

A public consultation period is underway and continues over the coming weeks, with more details available from the Council's Planning Section at Áras Chontae an Chláir.
