Council Says Insurance Concerns Resulting In Curtailed Christmas In Ennis

Clare County Council claims Christmas plans in Ennis have had to be scaled back this year due to insurance concerns from various providers.

A number of local representatives have expressed disappointment following the announcement that neither the Abbey Street Christmas Market nor the Ennis Christmas Train will be going ahead this year due to funding constraints.

The Christmas Lights ceremony will take place on Thursday November 23rd, having been moved forward a day due to complaints from business owners last year that holding the event on Black Friday caused significant congestion on the town’s approach roads.
