Council hopes new measures will ease problems on Lahinch Promenade

Local representatives in Lahinch are hopeful that new bye-laws passed by the Council this week will resolve ongoing problems at the town’s promenade.

Following the rise in surfing activities at the North Clare beach in the last decade, the Council has decided to introduce the bye-laws to make the area safer for walkers, swimmers and other visitors.

From July 1st, surf-schools will now all be located in one area on the Northern part of the beach, as opposed to along the promenade – that arrangement had sparked a number of complaints from the general public.
