Council Honours Clare Civil Defence with Civic Reception 

Clare Civil Defence has received Clare County Council’s highest honour in recognition of its vital role in supporting emergency services and the wider community.

A civic reception has been held at Áras Contae an Chláir in honour of the organisation’s more than 75 years of voluntary service, which the local authority says has had a profound and lasting impact across the county.

Involved in more than 100 events each year, Clare Civil Defence’s work includes emergency response, public event safety, search and rescue operations, and assistance during severe weather incidents.

Civil Defence Officer with Clare County Council, Steven Hayes who has served with the organisation for 28 years, says it’s a privilege to work alongside such a selfless and dedicated group of people.
