The repair and upkeep of local and regional roads across Clare have been given a near 2 million euro boost.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has allocated an extra 1.98 million euro to the county council’s road budget for 2013 .
This is on top of the 13 million euro it already received earlier in the year and the funds are expected to be used on local and regional routes badly damaged by the severe weather over the past number of months.
Its all part of an overall 50 million euro fund for local roads nationwide and Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen says the county has received a significant share.
