Clare County Council has endorsed calls for a trade embargo on Israeli goods as well as an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
It follows a proposal passed at this months meeting of the local authority, which sought an unequivocal condemnation of the bombardment of innocent civilians in the enclave, along with an appeal for the release of all hostages on both sides.
More than 18,200 people have been killed since October 7th, with 70% of the fatalities understood to be women and children.
Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District and Sinn Féin Councillor Donna McGettigan says the violence must come to an end.
