A sub-group of Clare County Council officials will examine ideas that could see the staging of a major annual festival in the county.
The local authority has been urged to explore the idea of hosting a festival along the lines of Riverfest in Limerick, or Galway’s Arts Festival.

It follows the staging of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis in each of the past two years.
A number of groups within the Council will now research the proposal, and explore any funding options that are available.
The move comes following a call from South-East Clare Councillor Cathal Crowe
