WHO Says Parents Shouldn’t Feel Like Pariahs If Child Develops Covid-19

People Limerick and Dublin have been warned the next week is crucial for the spread of the coronavirus in those areas.

102 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed last night, half of those in the capital, while none of the new cases were Clare.

The acting Chief Medical Officer has played down suggestions of another lockdown in Dublin.

The World Health Organisation says parents shouldn’t feel like ‘pariahs’ if their child develops Covid-19.

Several schools across the country have recorded cases of the virus since they’ve reopened in the past ten days.

One school in South-East Clare is among those which had to close already, after staff there were forced to isolate after coming into close contact with a confirmed case, although no children were affected.

Dr Mike Ryan, from the WHO, says parents shouldn’t feel guilty if their child gets the virus.
