The death of a West Clare farmer following a tragic accident has been described as a devastating blow for his family and the entire Cooraclare community.
Father of 3 Edmund Burke was killed after falling from the roof of his hay barn while carrying out repairs yesterday.

His young son and elderly mother raised the alarm and despite efforts by both the emergency services and family members to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Edmund Burke was in his fifties -and was a well known and respected member of the Cooraclare community while both his sons Damien and Cillian and daughter Zara are heavily involved in local GAA and athletics.
