Concern Raised Over Flooding Threat For Sixmilebridge

Concern has been raised that Sixmilebridge will become submerged, if works aren’t carried out to bolster flood defences.

Local Councillor John Crowe has expressed disappointment that the weir in the village hasn’t been included in the 5.8 million euro schedule of works for the Shannon municipal district this year.

The Fine Gael Councllor says the weir has played a crucial role in ensuring that the village didn’t flood in the past.
