Concern Expressed Following Death Of Dog By Poisoning In East Clare

Concern is being expressed following the death of a dog by poisoning in East Clare.

It’s understood a man was walking his dogs near the village of Caher when one of dogs ate a piece of meat which had been poisoned and placed on the ground.

Deliberately poisoning an animal is illegal in Ireland under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.

Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says it’s “outrageous” to lay poison in an open area as any animal has access to it.
