Alternative Water Supply In Place for Uisce Éireann Customers in Liscannor

An alternative water supply is being provided for Uisce Éireann customers in Liscannor whose supply has been impacted by a mechanical issue at Dereen pumping station.

Customers in Ballysteen, Lislorkan, Dereen, Moymore, Ballycotton, and surrounding areas may be experiencing supply disruptions as a result.

To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply in the form of a tanker is available at Liscannor GAA car park. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Darragh Conneely, Uisce Éireann Water Network Operations Manager, thanked impacted customers for their understanding as water levels across the network replenish over the coming 24 hours.

“We acknowledge the impact of unplanned outages for our customers, particularly in warm weather,” said Darragh. “We have made alternative supplies available for impacted customers which will remain in place until supply returns to all customers.

The majority of customers will have supply back over the course of tomorrow afternoon. However, for some customers at the end of network or on higher ground it may be Monday morning before full supply returns as the system recharges. I want to thank affected homes and businesses for their understanding while we work to restore normal supply.”
