Clonlara Councillor Expresses Disappointment Over Delay In Compensation For Flood Victims

A Clonlara Councillor has expressed his disappointment at delays in compensation for flood victims.

It comes as the Tánaiste has defended her department's response to the flooding crisis, saying up to 300 families have received payments to cover the cost of damage to land and property.

Flood victims were encouraged to visit the Department of Social Protection's offices in Wesbury before Christmas but Councillor Michael Begley says that some people have had difficulty in recovering the full cost of their expenses.
