Clare’s Elderly More Concerned With Access To Transport Than Technology

Older people in Clare are more concerned with gaining access to better transport and other facilities, than investment in technology.

A new report from the Healthy and Positive Ageing Initiative has found that 68% of older people in rural areas find it difficult to access public transport, while nearly two-thirds were disatisfied with the availability of accessible toilet facilities.

The survey, which involved interviews with more than ten thousand people over the age of 55 in Clare and 19 other local authority areas across the country, also found a significant drop in internet usage among participants.
