A former Clare resident who’s now living in the United Arab Emirates says life is going on almost as normal despite the ongoing missile strikes and conflict in the region.
The Government is actively considering charter flights to bring home Irish Citizens as Iran and Israel continue to exchange fire across the Middle East.
So far, over 22,000 Irish citizens in the Middle East have registered their details with the Department of Foreign Affairs so consular assistance can be provided if necessary.
Roughly 900 Irish are stuck in transit in the region, and the Government is actively considering charter flights to bring citizens home.
Airspace in Qatar, Kuwait, Israel, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates largely remains closed following retaliatory Iranian strikes on US bases, with residents advised to shelter and not make unnecesary journeys.

An Iranian native living in Ennis, meanwhile, doesn’t believe the death of former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will end the conflict in the region, but says the world is defintely a better place without him.
Hassan Famaraz doesn’t believe Donald Trump, the return of the former Royal family or any form of militarism will achieve a democratic regime in Iran.
He’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that there is a mix of fear and hope in his country.
