Clare TUI Rep Says Grading Students Work Will Exacerbate Leaving Cert Points Race

The Chair of the Clare branch of the TUI believes asking teachers to grade their students work as part of proposed Leaving Cert reforms will exacerbate the points race.

The Education Minister addressed the Teachers Union Of Ireland conference in Wexford yesterday and was greeted by placards from members protesting the proposed reforms to the senior cycle.

The union says additional components, such as practical and oral examinations, should instead be used to take emphasis of written exams.
