Clare Teacher Appointed Chair Of Teaching Council

For only the second time ever, a Clare man has been appointed chair of the Teaching Council of Ireland.

Sean McMahon, a former President of the INTO from Mullagh in West Clare, will chair the organisation which is the professional standards body for the teaching profession.

Two other Clare teachers have been appointed to the Council, Mary Curley who teaches in Doora, and Anne Howard, a teacher from Shannon.
