A Clare TD is calling for greater transparancy from insurance companies on how exactly insurance premiums are calculated.
It follows new research from the Central Bank found the average insurance premium rose by 4% last year to €655.

Legal costs have been blamed for the hike in motor premiums, with Insurance Ireland claiming reforms encouraging settling outside of court aren’t having the desired impact.
