Clare SVP President Believes Lockdown Unfairly Impact On Disadvantaged Children

The Clare Area President of SVP believes current restrictions are disproportionately impacting on children from disadvantaged backgrounds here.

Concerns have been raised that children from lower socio-economic backgrounds are struggling with access to digital services to continue their education.

The most common type of support provided by SVP to families since March 2020 has been help with costs to laptops or tablets, followed by broadband bills.

Niamh McDonnell says she’s seen direct evidence of the impact of this lockdown on the education of pupils here in Clare.
