The Clare Branch of St Vincent de Paul is calling on the government to prioritise low income families with young children in the upcoming budget.

In it’s pre-budget submission, SVP is looking for an extension to child benefit beyond the age of 18 and wants the free school book scheme to be extended to second level.

The organisation is also calling for the fuel allowance to be increased by €680 and extended to low income families in Budget 2024 to match the growing essential costs.
