An independent childcare survey carried out on Clare mothers has found that there is no childcare available for babies from 6 months to 12 months old.
The survey conducted by working mother of two Teodora O’Malley also found that start up costs are restricting the opening of new creches which is felt hardest in rural areas.

These issues are compounded by Maternity Leave in Ireland only covering six months, a period that was last increased in 2007.
