Clare Senator Says Government Has To Ensure Accommodating Refugees Doesn’t Negatively Impact On Tourism

A Clare Fianna Fáil Senator says the government must ensure that the continued accommodation of Ukrainian refugees doesn’t negatively impact on the county’s tourism offering.

Cabinet is meeting today to discuss a number of proposals from the Department of the Taoiseach to address the challenges in providing shelter for those who have fled the war-torn state.

Currently 4,225 refugees are staying in Clare, the majority of which are housed in hotel accommodation.
