Clare’s Senator is defending Minister Shane Ross amid the controversial re-opening of his local Garda Station.
A Garda report in June recommended that four stations be re-opened – though only Stepaside, in the Transport Minister’s constituency, has been so far.

The move has been heavily criticised, with Minister Ross accused of stroke politics.
Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Conway, who’s a member of the Oireachtas Justice Committee, doesn’t agree.
