Clare Retailer Urges Council To Support Businesses As They Face Slowdown In The Economy

An Ennis retailer is urging the local authority to support businesses as they face into a slowdown of the economy.

If follws an IBEC report which says it’s likely we’ll avoid a recession, but has forcast a slowdown in growth momentum in the Irish economy in the second half of this year.

The employers body estimates that shifts in global capital markets and ongoing higher prices of energy imports, are already undermining the recovery.

Aoife Madden, of Madden’s furniture in Ennis says there continues to be difficult in sourcing stock as nothing has stabilised and she says retailers need support from local shoppers and from the council to get through this year.
