Clare’s INTO representative is urging caution over the coming weeks, as the requirement for wearing masks is lifted.

The cabinet has agreed to end the legal requirement to wear a mask from next Monday, when it’ll be optional to wear one on public transport, in shops and in schools.

PCR testing is also set to be scaled down; most of those under 55 with symptoms won’t be eligible to get one.

Physical distancing measures in schools, such as pods, will also end next week, while testing and tracing will be scaled back.

Clare’s INTO Representative, Brendan Horan has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that there are still covid cases in schools, so teachers will be adopting a common sense approach.
