Clare recorded its sunniest July in over 70 years last month.
The 247.7 sunshine hours over the course of the month represented the sunniest July on record since 1955.

This represents a 183% increase on Shannon Airport’s Long Term Average for the month of July.
Large parts of the South and East of the country recorded their warmest months on record, Phoenix Park reported 36 consecutive days with maximum daily temperatures above 20 °C, surpassing the previous record of 34 days set at Shannon Airport in 1995.
