There was an over 20% annual increase in the number of electric vehicle sales in Clare in August.
The latest data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 42 new electric cars were registered in the county last month.

Petrol/electric hybrids remain the most popular new car in the county with 735 transactions recorded so far this year, 15% more than the same stage in 2025.
SIMI Director General, Brian Cooke, says the government must support the growing shift towards electric vehicles.
