Clare Property Prices Up 10% In Last Year

The average price paid for a property in Clare has increased by 9.4% in the past year.

The latest figures from Central Statistics Office show that the median price paid for a residence in the Banner in February was €235,000.

The Residential Property Price Index shows that the MidWest had the lowest increase of average house price outside of the Dublin area with a 2.8%rise in the last year.

The national index has now reached the value of 166.2, which is 1.6% above its highest level at the peak of the property boom in April 2007.

In March of 2022, the median price paid for a residence in Clare was €210,000.

This increased by 9.4% to €235,000 in the period this year.

Nationally, from January to March of this year, 50,159 dwelling purchases by households at market prices were filed with Revenue.

Of these, 16,783 were purchased by first time buyer owner-occupiers, while former owner-occupiers purchased 27,030.

The balance of 6,346 were acquired by non-occupiers.

The median price of a dwelling purchased in the 12 months to March 2023 was €310,000.
