A Clare patient advocate wants to see the remission period as part of new Right to Be Forgotten legislation reduced to 3 years.
Under newly proposed laws that are expected to pass through the Seanad today, cancer patients would have the right for their medical history to be disregarded when applying for financial products like life insurance and mortgages.

This is provided however they’ve been in remission for 5 years.
Chair of HSE MidWest’s Patient and Service User Council John Wall believes this needs to be lowered.
