Clare Parent Claims Bus Eireann Reimbursement Policy Not Helping School Families

A Clare parent claims the compensation measures for those impacted by school bus driver shortages are offering little to no help.

Bus Eireann has been forced to cancel services in Newmarket, Ruan and Sixmilebridge while a large cohort of students throughout the county have lost out on seats due to an oversubscription of concessionary tickets.

The provider has set up an exceptional interim service grant which is effectively giving €5 per day to mitigate costs for families forced to source or provide alternative transport.
