Clare One Of Four Counties Where No Non-Domestic Building Has Received Top BER This Year

Clare is one of four counties where no non-domestic building has received the top building energy rating this year.

New CSO data has revealed ‘C’ to be the most common BER given to the likes of commercial premises in this county in the opening three months of 2026.

Building energy rating audits are carried out to assess the energy efficiency of a property.

In the months of January, February and March of this year, 27 inspections of this nature took place in non-commercial buildings in Clare.

A total of eight received a ‘C’ BER while six received a ‘D’ rating, four were given a ‘B’, a further four were rated ‘E’, three got a ‘G’ BER and two were bestowed with an ‘F’.

No non-domestic building got an ‘A’ rating in Clare, making this county just one of four where no property managed to achieve the top grade, alongside Tipperary, Longford and Leitrim.
