A Clare man who’s firmly on the road to recovery following a major cancer operation two years ago is urging others to recognise and act on their symptoms.
Inagh native, Pat Barry was diagnosed with stage three Osophogeal Cancer almost three years ago, after initially presenting to his GP feeling what he described as a “discomfort.”
Pat underwent extensive treatment, which involved a stay in intensive care, dietary changes, several rounds of chemotherapy and an osophagus removal procedure.
Roughly 500 people are diagnosed with the condition in Ireland annualy and Pat says it’s vital people don’t delay in checking their health.
